Sample Author's Biography
As noted in the Thesis Guidebook, you are required to include an Author's Biography as part of the thesis you submit to the Honors Office. Below is a sample to help you.
Katherine Shakespeare, raised in Vernal, Utah, graduated in 2002 from Uintah High School. A Presidential Scholar, she entered Utah State University that autumn as an English major, with an emphasis in Literary Studies. It took her a year to stumble serendipitously into Dr. Mark Damen's Latin 1010 course and in 2005 she changed her major to Interdisciplinary Studies, in order to combine her study of literature with Latin, Greek, and classical history. While an Aggie, Katherine supplemented her four-year term as the Honors Program's chief student advisor with work as an America Reads tutor at Adams Elementary, an Honors Fellow for HONR 2000 Scholars Forum, a Rhetoric Associate, and an Undergraduate Teaching Fellow for the History Department. Katherine launched her fifth and final year at USU with a summer abroad, studying in Freiburg, Germany, and traveling around much of Western Europe.
After she graduates in May 2007, Katherine plans to move to Baltimore, Maryland, where she will teach public school as a Teach for America corps member. During her two years with Teach for America, Katherine will earn a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from John Hopkins University.
