Eligibility for Acceptance:
Qualified students will have cumulative GPAs of at least 3.50 and will have declared a major in French, German, or Spanish.

Program of Study:
The 15-credit requirement for Honors in Language is met by successfully completing contracts in the following courses:

• At least 6 credits in courses numbered 3000 or above must be taken in French, German, or Spanish
• 3-6 credits must be taken under LANG 4210, Senior Thesis/Project
• 3 credits may be taken under LANG 4200, Senior Seminar
• 3 upper-division credits from outside the department will be accepted, with the approval of the Departmental Honors Advisor

Requirements for Completion of Degree:
The successful candidate will graduate with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and a GPA of 3.5 in upper-division major requirements and Honors course work and will complete and present in a public forum an Honors thesis/project. Many students have found it helpful to relate the courses taken on Honors contract to the final thesis/project.

Suggested Coursework in the Department:
Any upper-division courses in French, German, or Spanish are acceptable.
