Eligibility for Acceptance:
Qualified students will have cumulative GPAs of at least 3.30 and will have declared a major in the department.
Program of Study:
The 15-credit requirement for Honors in Agriculture Education is met by successfully completing contracts in the following courses:
- 6-9 credits of upper-division coursework must be taken within the ASTE department
- 3-6 credits may be taken in an upper-division course outside the department (e.g. ScEd, PlSc) with approval from the Departmental Honors Advisor
- 3 credits must be taken under HONR 4900, Senior Thesis/Project, which provides academic credit for the thesis work. Senior thesis/project will be conducted under the supervision of a member of the ASTE faculty.
Requirements for Completion of Degree:
The successful candidate will graduate with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 overall and in at least 15 credits of upper division Honors coursework. The student will complete a senior Honors thesis/project and present the results in a public forum. Many students have found it helpful to relate the courses taken on Honors contract to the final thesis/project.
