Eligibility for Acceptance:
Qualified students will have cumulative GPAs of at least 3.50 and will have been accepted into the college.
Program of Study:
The 15-credit requirement for Honors in Business is met in the following way:
- ECON 1500H* Introduction to Economic Institutions
- ACCT 2010H* Survey of Accounting
- MGT 3110H* Managing People and Organizations
- At least one upper-division course in the major taken under contract.
- 3 credits of supervised Senior Thesis/Project** work under one of the following (depending on major):
- BIS 4950
- ECON 4950
- ACCT 4950
- MGT 4950
- BA 4950
Requirements for Completion of Degree:
The successful candidate will graduate with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, 15 or more credits of Honors coursework in Business, and will complete and present in a public forum an Honors thesis/project. Many students have found it helpful to relate the courses taken on Honors contract to the final thesis/project. The designation on the transcript will read "Graduated with Honors in [name of the major]."
* Students may substitute upper division contract courses for these requirements if necessary. Please contact Dr. Fawson or the Honors Office for more information.
** A student may elect to complete an Honors Advanced Internship (BUS 4250) by contract in lieu of the Senior Honors Thesis/Project. For information on this option, contact Krystn Clark, Hunstman School of Business Internship Coordinator, Office - BUS 309, 797-0333, krystn.clark@usu.edu and carefully review the following documents.
