Congratulations to Dr. Scott Bates who was named the 2010-2011 Faculty Undergraduate Advisor of the Year in the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services!
Congratulations to Susan Nyikos, recipient of the English Instructor of the Year 2010 Award!
Congratulations to Keri Holt, recipient of the English Teacher of the Year 2010 Award!
Congratulations to Dr. James P. Evans who's co-authored article "Geophysical properties within the San Andreas Fault Zone at the San Andreas Fault Observatory at Depth and their relationships to rock properties and fault zone structure" was published in Journal of Geophysical Research in December 2010. 2009-2010 Faculty Spotlights

A new award, the "Joyce Kinkead Outstanding Honors Scholar Award", in honor of Dr. Joyce Kinkead, associate Vice President for Research, was instituted in April 2010 and awarded to Katie Fredrickson. The award was made possible by Dr. David and Dr. Terry Peak.
Congratulations to Dr. James P. Evans who received USU's Graduate Mentor of the Year Award! Dr. Evans was selected from all of the graduate advisors on the USU campus.
Dr. Charles Swenson was chosen by USU Honors Students to give the 35th Annual Last Lecture! Dr. Swenson is the Director of the Center for Space Engineering and a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Congratulations to USU's Dr. David Peak Named Utah's 2009 Carnegie Professor of the Year Utah State has received the Carnegie Professor of the Year award 9 times, more than any other university in the state. Dr. Peak has done a lot for Undergraduate Research at USU and the Honors Program. Read the full story here.

2008-2009 Faculty Spotlights

Dr. Ann Berghout Austin, was chosen by USU Honors students to give the 34th annual Last Lecture entitled" Children: My Least Common Denominator," the lecture was given Monday, April 6. You can watch a video of it here. Dr. Austin is Vice Provost for Faculty Development and Diversity and a full Professor in the Department of Family, Consumer, & Human Development.

2007-2008 Faculty Spotlights

Dr. David Peak was selected as the 2008 Last Lecturer.  You may listen to Dr David Peak's talk, "Complexity and the New Academy: They Put My Office Where?"

2006-2007 Faculty Spotlights

Dr. Patricia Gantt was selected as the 2007 Last Lecturer.  You may read or listen to Dr. Patricia Gantt's talk, "Waiting for the World to Change: Reflections of an Aging Hippie."
Professor Ken Bartkus was selected as the Undergraduate Research Mentor of the Year in the College of Business.
Dr. Scott Bates was awarded the Teaching Excellence Award in the College of Education and Human Services.
Professor Basudeb Biswas was selected as the Outstanding Graduate Mentor in the College of Business.
Dr. Patricia Gantt was selected to receive the Teaching Excellence Award, the Overall Teacher of the Year Award, and the Teacher of the Year Award in the Humanities Division in the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
Paul Grossl, Associate Professor, received the Teaching Excellence Award in the College of Agriculture.
Stacey Hills, Assistant Professor, received the Teaching Excellence Award in the College of Business.
Professor David Luthy received an award for Facutly Advisor of the Year in the College of Business.
Steve Mansfield, Assistant Professor, was selected as Teacher of the Year in the Arts Division of the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
Professor Dan McInerney was selected as the Humanist of the Year.
Dr. Laurie McNeill received the Eldon J. Gardner Teaching Award.
Terry Messmer, Associate Professor, received the E. G. Peterson Extension Award.
Mick Nicholls, Associate Professor, received an award for Undergraduate Research Mentor of the Year in the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
Professor Lance Seefeldt was selected for the Teaching Excellence Award in the College of Science.
Professor Michael Toney was honored as the Outstanding Graduate Mentor in the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
